How can I print?

As part of the Managed Cluster Service (MCS), the DS-Print service along with the institute's local printers or Multi-Functional Devices (MFDs) are pre-installed on all MCS managed Windows, Linux, or Mac computers. DS-Print service can also be installed and accessed on a user's personal workstation or laptop.

  • Computer running Microsoft Windows 7, 8 or 10, Apple Mac OS 10.7 or later
  • administrative rights to install DS-Print service on the computer
  • Desktop Services account for authentication
  • network connection (wireless eduroam or UniOfCam, or college network permitting the DS-Print service)
  • DS-Print credit

A student with a Windows or Mac computer using a eduroam wireless connection can send a print job to any permitted printer (and be charged for it at the institution's standard rate).

  • Support for Linux on non-MCS managed computers is not yet available. As soon as DS-Print is able to properly support Linux the service will be made available and supported to the same level as currently experienced with Windows and Mac platforms
  • Unfortunately, wireless printing is not supported at Selwyn college or Robinson college due to the colleges network configuration
  • It is not possible to print to DS-Print from other mobile devices such as tablets and mobiles. Please ask your local IT support if there are other print options
