Internal network fault on 8 January 2016

We identified a problem with the network infrastructure. This has now been resolved, and we believe that the affected services – University wireless network including eduroam, Hermes, Falcon, and the Managed Web Service – are now running as normal.

If you notice any further issues, however, please report them to the UIS Service Desk (service-desk@uis.cam.ac.uk).

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

 

14:00: We believe we have now isolated the cause of the incident, and remedial work is currently under way. Thank you for your patience while this is being resolved.

 

12:38: UIS has identified an issue with the network infrastructure in the West Cambridge Data Centre. This is currently being investigated.

We are aware that the following services continue to be affected: connections to the University Wireless Service including eduroam; Hermes, Falcon and the Managed Web Service.

Please telephone the UIS Service Desk on (01223 7)62999 if you notice problems with any other UIS services.

 

10:35: UIS are investigating possible internal network problems that may be affecting some UIS services.

We believe there may be problems with webmail access to Hermes accounts and some websites (including the UIS website).

University Wireless Service maintenance 07:00–09:00 Wednesday 20 March

The University Wireless Service (eduroam and UniOfCam) will be subject to interruptions between 07:00 and 09:00 on Wednesday 20 March, while we investigate the problems that occurred during this week’s fail-over test.
