10 December update from Jisc on Internet disruptions

Jisc have provided a further update on 10 December on the recent disruptions to the Internet via the Janet network:

Media statement following recent DDoS attacks.

As you may be aware we have been subject to a series of DDoS attacks which have affected internet access for our customers.

The blocks which have been put in place to stop the attacks are working effectively and there has been no impact to customers since Tuesday at 14:00, despite further attacks being attempted.

As part of an ongoing investigation into the cause of the attacks we are working with various enforcement agencies.

Our network and security teams continue to work hard to minimise any impact to our customers. Long term we are already reviewing and improving our systems so that we can reduce the impact of any future attempts on service delivery for our customers.

This update follows earlier announcements on Tuesday 8 and Wednesday 9 December 2015.

Moodle upgrade on Tuesday 23 July

Moodle, the University's virtual learning environment, will be upgraded on Tuesday 23 July between 07:00 and 12:00. The service will be unavailable during this period.

Migration of centrally managed rooms from Micad to Booker on 29 July

We'll be migrating bookings of centrally managed lecture rooms from Micad to Booker on 29 July. Estate Management will retire the room booking module of Micad at the end of this year.
