Forgotten passwords for UIS services

1. What do I do if I've forgotten my single sign-on UIS Password?

If you have forgotten your single sign-on UIS Password you will need to reset it. Get a Password Reset Token from your local password resetter(s) or the UIS Service Desk. You will need to bring photo ID with you.

2. What do I do if I've forgotten my individual password for Raven, Hermes or Desktop Services?

If you have forgotten your individual passwords for either Raven authentication, Hermes email or Desktop Services (which is used to log in to your personal account when using the Managed Cluster Service (MCS) computers) you will need to reset it.

Get a Password Reset Token from your local password resetter(s) or the UIS Service Desk. You will need to bring photo ID with you.

Note: When you use a Password Reset Token, your Raven, Hermes and Desktop Services accounts will all be converted to use a single sign-on UIS Password, and your old individual passwords will no longer work – you must now use your UIS Password for all three of your accounts.

3. What do I do if I've forgotten my password for the Managed Web Service (MWS)?

You will need to complete the Managed Web Server Password Reset Request Form online. Your password will be reset to a random value and details of the change will be posted to you via an address for you shown in University Information Services records. Alternatively, visit the UIS Service Desk, bringing some form of photo ID with you (e.g. your University Card, Driving Licence or Passport).

Note: We regret that, for security reasons, it is not possible to give out passwords over the phone or send them by email.
