The information is this area describes the UIS wireless services, any associated charges, the technical background to these services and any technical requirements for the customer institution implementing them.

The UIS has a team of experienced and qualified wireless engineers able to perform extensive and detailed wireless surveys. Familiar with the University environment they have considerable experience of the different types of University institutions and the challenges they present. Full wireless survey reports are produced, complete with recommendations AP model, antenna, location and orientation.
The UIS can provide or rent fully managed wireless access points. IT staff can may use the Wireless Console to manage and troubleshoot access points registered to their institution.
UIS wireless services (SSIDs)
UIS access points can be configured to broadcast a variety of SSIDs, including - eduroam, UniOfCam, The Cloud, local institution SSIDs.
Public access wireless service
The University has a contract with BSkyB to provide a free public access wireless service (SSID) called The Cloud.
